Sri Lanka Child Friendly Hotels

According to the 2010 New York Times travel article, “31 Places to Go in 2010,” Sri Lanka is at the top of the list. For kids who love animals, Sri Lanka turns their world into a 24-hour zoo.

The tropical island, with a population 20 million, moves with elephants stomping through green pastures, water buffaloes padding through marshes, and monkeys swinging through lush, big-leafed trees.

Families visiting Sri Lanka, according to the Sri Lanka Tourist board, should plan trips to bypass monsoon seasons, which are December through April in the northeast and June to October in the southwest.

Children-friendly hotels, services, and activities abound along the seaside and in the city centers.

A family-friendly hotel situated in the center of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, the Windsor hotel is within walking distance of waterfalls, botanical gardens, parks and pristine natural forests ideal, for families with children to visit and explore.

The hotel’s 55 standard rooms and five larger, deluxe rooms feature modern furniture and comfortable queen, king or twin beds .

The on-site restaurant offers a taste of local Sri Lankan cuisine, and the hotel’s tour desk service helps visitors plan trips within or outside the city. The Windsor also offers golf, jogging trails, and activities and games for children.
