The companies ‘low cost’ still preferred to travel

Travel time is a treat not suitable for all budgets. Thanks to the companies low-cost flight, travel options have been extended to all budgets. The month of September has been a success in the Spanish tourism as it has increased the number of international visitors, of which 58’8% arrived via low cost carriers.

According to data published by the Institute for Tourism Studies (IET), our country llegarona 6.6 million passengers and 3’8 million did so in low-cost airlines. These figures represent an increase of 12.4% compared to the same month last year. The major companies chosen by users have been Ryanair, Easyjet and Air Berlin with more than 55% of the total. Popular search has been the sun and the beach. British and Germans chose especially the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and Catalonia and Andalusia Valencia but maintained their usual numbers.

The summer of 2011 broke record for overnight stays and arrivals of foreign tourists, a factor that partly offset the weakness in domestic demand. Although the outlook for the third quarter of the year are not positive about the slowdown in European economies, the first data itself being better than expected. One key is the unique time in September and early October, which has lengthened the summer season.
